Yugyeom’s Letter to Ahgase on January 19, 2021, Yugyeom decided not to renew his contract with JYP. All seven members then collectively posted a handwritten letter to Ahgase.

The letter was posted on the social media accounts of each GOT7 member, and the content is as follows:
“To our IGOT7, this is GOT7. First of all, we feel deeply sorry toward our Ahgase for causing you pain and confusion through this news.
We would like to thank JYP and all the staff members who have worked hard and walked with us until the very end, allowing our relationship to conclude on good terms.
Moving forward, all seven of us will each take responsibility for our own futures and start a new journey with those who will walk alongside us. We wanted to tell our fans first, which is why we are sharing our feelings through this letter.
We know that no words can fully heal the wounds and anxiety felt by Ahgase. However, as GOT7, there is one thing we can say with absolute confidence: we will continue to make great music for you and strive to create a future where we can all laugh and be happy together.
We hope that the memories and traces of Ahgase, who have always supported and waited for us, will not remain only in the past but will become the strength that drives us toward the future. This is more than just a hope; it is a promise that all seven of us will continue to grow and show you an even better version of ourselves from now on.
